Washington Nutrition Education Network

We believe in realistic, sincere and focused efforts to meet specific needs of clearly defined target audience


Washington State University, USDA, the Cooperative Extension Service and the Network wanted to reach food stamp families with a regular program of information about food shopping, handling, storage and safety, and to emphasize the importance of families sharing meals together. Working closely with all these organizations and a steering committee, we created a series of four leaflets “Making the Most of It” – providing helpful information in a straightforward, friendly and easy to use format. These leaflets were translated into seven different languages.

The result – follow up research showed that the leaflets met and exceeded the initial criteria and recipients praised the helpfulness of the information.
